01 · History
How it started
Starlight Set is a girls-only volleyball initiative. It began in the summer of 2025 with one idea: schoolgirls should get to play real matches for their school too.
We introduced ourselves as the first volleyball competition for girls in Uzbekistan. Here is how the road went, as our channel recorded it.
27 July 2025
Starlight Set introduced
“More than just a tournament, it's a movement”: a celebration of confidence, strength and sisterhood among schoolgirls. From day one we were looking for regional representatives.
6 September 2025
Why sport, and why volleyball
Volleyball relieves stress and builds emotional balance and self-confidence. Every serve and every save helps girls break stereotypes.
22 September 2025
Partnering with Sun-Hightech
Sun-Hightech, a maker of solar batteries, began supporting us financially, which meant more tournaments.
3 December 2025
An ambassador from every region
We called on active young people aged 15-25 to become ambassadors and run tournaments in their own regions.
30 April 2026
“Bahor malikalari”, Namangan
More than 150 girls from 14 districts and cities played in the Namangan regional championship, with Starlight Set as general sponsor.
6 August 2026
The Angren tournament
Eight teams took the court in Tashkent region. Iskandar Mengliyev helped organise and refereed.

The Angren tournament
Angren, Tashkent region · Angren
On 6 August Starlight Set held its girls' volleyball competition in Angren, Tashkent region: eight teams.
Seeing so many talented girls come together, challenge themselves and encourage one another is a reminder of why initiatives like Starlight Set matter.
We are proud to create opportunities that empower young women through sport and build a stronger, more connected community. Thank you to every team, player, volunteer and supporter.
Thank youIskandar Mengliyev, for helping organise the competition and generously agreeing to referee it.

03 · Why
Why this exists
Volleyball is played in almost every school, but girls rarely get a real match against another school. We do three things about it.
01We reach out to schools
Every tournament starts with an invitation to schools. Girls play for their own school: that is how Mirzo Ulugbek Specialized School, Target School and the Presidential School reached the podium in Tashkent.
02We run tournaments
The hall, the net, the referee, the schedule, the medals and the certificates: we prepare all of it. Three tournaments so far, from Tashkent to Namangan and Angren.
03We bring girls together through sport
Volleyball builds teamwork, fitness, mental strength, new friendships and leadership. Every girl deserves the chance to shine, compete and discover what she can do.
04 · Team
Who puts the tournaments on
The team that finds the hall, puts up the net, draws the schedule and photographs the day.
Core team
The project's co-founders, operations and media.

05 · End goal
A girls' tournament in every region of Uzbekistan
An ambassador in every region, running her own tournament there: so that for a schoolgirl, competition becomes a standing opportunity rather than a once-a-year event.

Tap a region: it opens the tournament held there, or an ambassador application for that region.

Run a Starlight tournament in your region
Join as an ambassador, a volunteer, or with your school team. The most active ambassadors get a certificate and a recommendation letter. Fill the application in with care: the team reads every one.
